TOGETHER WE CAN IMPACT THE WORLD
|
The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty. The Foundation’s Humanitarian Programs fund international Rotary club and district projects to improve the quality of life, providing health care, clean water, food, education and other essential needs primarily in the developing world. One of the major Humanitarian Programs is PolioPlus, which seeks to eradicate the polio virus worldwide. Through its Educational Programs, the Foundation provides funding for some 1,200 students to study abroad each year. Grants are also awarded to university teachers to teach in developing countries and for exchanges of business and professional people. Former participants in the Foundation’s programs have the opportunity to continue their affiliation with Rotary as Foundation Alumni. Are you a Sustaining Member of The Rotary Foundation? All it takes is to contribute $100 annually to The Rotary Foundation. You can do this in several ways; one is to have $25 a quarter added to you dues statement. All it takes is to fill out a form and return to the club treasurer. Or you can have an automatic monthly withdrawal from a checking account or a monthly credit card charge. Forms for either option are available. If you contribute $100 by January 2011, you can attend the Bi-District Foundation Banquet at the Norman Embassy Suites on 2/18/11 and hear RI President Ray Klinginsmith for the meal price. Think about it. Remember, November is Rotary Foundation Month; what better time to establish a regular giving account to The Rotary Foundation. |
